Our main public service providers for unpaid carers caring for people living with mental illness

There are many providers that can help support, listed in the other blog post. This post focuses on the new centre that has recently opened in Ivanhoe, with satelite hub in Eltham

As part of the mental health reform, new lived/living experience led centres have started to sprout across Australia, and for the Nillumbik/Banyule/Whittlesea areas, ours arrived in Spring last year.

It is run by a cohort of service providers that work together to offer a cohesive and collaborative supports to help us navigate this complex path.

Ivanhoe hub has a customised accessibility guide to help you find the centre:

Individual Brief Intervention:

Brief Intervention is scheduled one-on-one sessions with a mental health clinician

over a short period of time. Our aim is to support mental health and wellbeing

through a range of different psychological therapies and social interventions

collectively known as psychosocial interventions.

They also run a 6 week program for older adults living in the North-

Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, who are experiencing mild to moderate

symptoms of anxiety, stress, or low mood, or who want to improve their

emotional wellbeing. Sessions are facilitated by qualified mental health

clinicians from the Healthy Ageing Service (HAS).

Through my small business Soulful Being, I put together a list of local and Australia wide supporting services for a wide variety of topics and issues we may face. Would like to share this with you here too :-)
