About the event

Mindfulness meditation is  a powerful practice for relieving stress and connecting with what matters most to us, especially the people we love and care for. It’s an ancient tradition, but its effectiveness is backed by modern science. In this one-hour presentation Ollie will explain what mindfulness is and how it is especially helpful to carers like us, and also offer a short introductory meditation to help you try it out for yourself. The presentation will draw on Ollie’s personal experience as a carer and meditation teacher and some of the relevant research into the benefits of meditation for carers and the people they care for. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions, and learn some ways to develop your own meditation practice if you’d like to do so.
